Rackmount Inverters Provide Back-Up Power
The Rackmount Inverter line provides a seamless back-up for 115 VAC powered communication equipment from a site’s 24 or 48 VDC battery system. Available in 1000 and 2000 watt ratings, these units are typically wired in hot stand-by mode and then activate via an internal fast-acting transfer switch when AC power is lost. This ensures routers and transmitters remain on-line in the event of a power grid failure, or if the site’s utility power is disconnected for maintenance.
Producing a well regulated pure sine wave output ensures equipment like point-to-point transmitters for wireless broadband, or critical radios operate at full performance without introducing distortion or noise to the system. User friendly diagnostics displays indicate system status and monitor AC fault and DC abnormal conditions, which can also be wired to activate remote and local alarms via the internal form C contacts. Additional system monitoring via the internet using a RS 232 port and SNMP card is optional.

Application: Natural Disasters Can’t Stop AC Power
Natural disasters, like the recent fire storms in Southern California, can strike anywhere any time cutting AC power. With utility AC power lost, wireless sites utilize DC powered equipment that run off back-up batteries, however some critical equipment operates on AC only, and need an AC back-up source.
Newmar provides inverters in a wide range of input voltage to accommodate AC back-up for critical applications. They feature a fast-acting transfer circuit providing transparent switch-over to pure AC sine wave back-up, thus enabling equipment to continue operating at full performance in the event of AC power interruption. Operating from DC inputs of 24-, 48- or 110- VDC and producing AC power ratings of 1000 or 2000VA gives site mangers a wide choice of solutions.
